About The Film

TIGHT & NERDY is a feature-length documentary that tells the story of the world’s first burlesque troupe devoted to “Weird Al” Yankovic.

As we follow this group of Weird Al super-fans on what just might be their final tour, we learn that Tight & Nerdy's "Al-Stravaganza" is more than just a comedy show - It's a story of finding your place in a chaotic world and redefining what it means to 'belong.'

With themes of female empowerment, gender inequality and body positivity, this is a film aimed squarely at those of us who have ever felt powerless, lonely or bullied simply because we are unable to hide that we‘re different.  And it's all wrapped up in big personalities, over-the-top costumes, and unforgettable performances set to some of Weird Al’s most amazing tunes.

The Thing That Isn't a Trailer

Since we don't have a trailer (you know, because we don't have a movie yet) we'd like to show you the sizzle reel (essentially a proof of concept) that we used to pitch this around town - featuring an awesome version of "Perform This Way" by Summer Woods!

THE CAST: They're Not Crazy; They Perform This Way

Dave & Ethan Do it again!

Al-sociate Producers of Showgals, Dave & Ethan reveal a very special gift from their show to our film.  Jeff also checks in as his cat Chloe hollers.

    You oughta know

KPCR 101.9FM's Nero Nava wants you to know about our very own Odessa Lil (AKA Audra Wolfmann) and plays some pretty great Weird Al tunes in the process.

Documentary - / dɒk yəˈmɛn tə ri, -tri / - noun

Jeff joins The Dictionary Podcast host Spencer James Parks to talk about everything from Doctrinaire to Documentary.  (Literally, those words and all in between them.)

    Wake up!

107.7 The Bronc - Rider University's student radio station had Jeff on their morning show, Wake Up Rider with Nick & Trey. Jeff talked to them about  grown-up stuff that they may or may not have been old enough to discuss.

    in the zone

Rich Kimball chats with Jeff about Burlesque, the rapidly-approaching end of the Kickstarter, and how Weird Al can basically unite us all.

"it'll blow more than just your mind!"

Co-Director Jonathan spewed forth this gem on a bonus episode of The Beer'd Al Podcast.  Co-Director Jeff was entertained, as was host Lauren.   Or she was drunk.  We aren't sure.

    2000" pickles

Pickles Kintaro chats with Dave & Ethan (and co-director Jeff!) on a pretty stinkin' majestic episode of their podcast!

Pickles Kintaro holds an accordion with the caption GETTING NAKED FOR WEIRD AL YANKOVIC

    Dreams! documentaries! Deli meats!

Just three of the fabulous subjects you'll hear host Wendy Miller discuss with our very own Pickles Kintaro!

    Podcast Adventures!

BEHOLD:  Our first official media coverage!  Director Jeff Nucera stops by Dave & Ethan's 2000" Weird Al Podcast to chat about the movie!

He does it again here, too!

You Can Read It, You Can Read It, You Can Read It...

    it's not called s fist.

SF-ist put together an incredible piece about the film and the Kickstarter campaign!

    Boing Boing

Boing Boing gave us a nice write-up based on the SFist article, just after our campaign ended! But we are sure they meant well!

    The 'bare' essential

Music & Pop Culture site Essentially Pop has a lovely interview with Pickles, Odessa Lil and Mistress Marla Spankx as well as producer/directors Jonathan & Jeff!

    Do The HUSTLE!

The Hustle gave us a shout in their daily newsletter on Friday, 2/17/2023!

    We are fugged!

Our friends at Go Fug Yourself gave us a shout out in their Friday, Feb 10th roundup of awesomeness!
